Our role in the SEISMIC project

Role in the project
Philips serves as the overall coordinator of SEISMIC and is responsible for the project’s overall coordination and management. In this role, Philips ensures that the project progresses in line with its objectives, facilitates effective collaboration across all work packages, maintains alignment with the IHI office, and identifies opportunities for synergy with related initiatives.
Philips contributes innovations in the field of image-guided interventional X-ray systems. Three Philips legal entities participate in SEISMIC, each bringing complementary expertise and responsibilities:

1. Philips Medical Systems Netherlands (PMSN) contributes innovations in system geometry for flexible positioning of the X-ray beam, software solutions for X-ray and combined X-ray/ultrasound navigation support to improve intraoperative image guidance, and a simulation environment for training in MMA embolization procedures.
2. Philips Medical Systems Hamburg (PMSH) contributes an innovative X-ray tube that enables new X-ray system geometries and supports improved image quality.
3. Philips Electronics Netherlands (PEN) contributes project management support.
