About

Cancer Patients Europe (www.cancerpatientseurope.org) is a pan-European and all-cancer type association that, uniting cancer patients, carers, and survivors, envisions reducing the burden of cancer on patients and survivors, their carers, the health care systems, and society as a whole across the European continent. Committed to cooperation, CPE is actively partnering with other stakeholders, further entrenching its commitment to ensuring that all cancer patients, no matter where they live in Europe, have access to the best and most innovative diagnostics and treatments in a timely manner.

CPE counts on 107 members in 32 Countries and we work primarily on Research, Advocacy, and Policy.

Our role in the SEISMIC project

1. Lead the development and delivery of training programmes for physicians on patient engagement, promoting patient-centred care, shared decision-making, and meaningful patient involvement in healthcare.
2. Lead the creation of a Patient Expert Fellows training programme, equipping patients with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute effectively to research, implementation, and healthcare innovation.
3. Support the identification and engagement of key stakeholders across Europe, including patients, clinicians, hospital administrators, and policymakers, through its extensive network.
4. Contribute patient perspectives to identify barriers and enablers for scaling SEISMIC interventions and support the development of a patient-centred implementation framework.
5. Ensure that the needs, experiences, and priorities of cancer patients are integrated throughout the project's implementation, dissemination, and exploitation activities."
